Hòfi Rooi Catootje, The garden of the family Maduro

Hòfi Rooi Catootje an authentic Curacao experience

It’s no surprise that the family cherished their time at Landhuis Rooi Catootje, especially in the shade-filled hofi. They often enjoyed delightful picnics beneath the lush canopy of trees.

A Journey Through Nature and History.

The newly opened Hòfi of Landhuis Rooi Catootje, is a serene green oasis nestled within the historic estate of Rooi Catootje.
The Hofi features a unique dam system, from late 19 century, that has been revitalized after 20 years of dormancy. This restoration project, part of the ‘Awa pa Kòrsou’ initiative, aims to tackle climate-related challenges such as droughts and flooding, ensuring the preservation of Curaçao’s natural heritage.

Discover the Flora and Fauna

As you wander through the Hofi, you’ll encounter a diverse array of vegetation, including Tamarinde and fruit-bearing Mango trees, Wara-Wara birds, and Leguana’s. The natural landscape invites you to explore the tranquil surroundings and discover the small wildlife that calls this place home.
